This report is about horizontal axis wind turbines and the design and fabrication of a micro horizontal axis wind turbine as capstone team project which is part of the curriculum in the senior year. Wind turbines are designed for the sole purpose of generating electricity for various reasons and there are numerous configurations. The aim of the report is to provide enlightenment on wind turbines and explain the design and fabrication of a micro HAWT for electricity generation. Some certain constraints were considered during the design such as rpm of the generator. The design approach was straightforward with the help of pugh selection matrix to pick the best design possible.
